Give Some Thought To Your Wedding Gifts

Whenever we talk about wedding gifts, we normally only think about gifts for the bride. During this posts, I am going to try and put that right! What about the Groomsmen! It’s time that you all start giving some thought to groomsmen gifts. So, what can you buy? Guys like gadgets, we know that but what and most importantly, what is fitting for a wedding bash? Well, there are options out there if you’re stumped for groomsmen gift ideas. I personally like novelty items, the sort of thing that no guy is going to walk into a shop and pay for himself. An example of this are the personalized pub signs that you see in the movies. These engraved signs make a great wedding gifts and are normally right up the groomsmens street! They’re also a great way to remember events, such as weddings!

Anyway, it’s up to you what you guys buy for your friends and colleague, but don’t just think about the brides! If you’re buying for the pair of them, consider something that they’ll both get some use out of such as some drinking glasses or even some mugs and cups. They always go down well as presents!

Ideas For Your Honeymoon

Did you know that we are slowly approaching the time of the year when the Reading Festival gets in to full swing? Indeed, come the Bank Holiday weekend in August, millions of people from around the world will flock to the festival, accompanied by pretty much anyone who has a love of good music, and fun. Of course, the other condition of attendance is that you have a ticket, which may actually prove to be a bit difficult in the current environment, if you are yet to get one.

Due to the fact that the Reading Festival 2009 tickets are no longer being sold at the door, people who are keen to attend rushed in and snapped up each and every ticket, when they first went on sale not that long ago. Luckily though, if you missed out on this one, the ticketing company - Seatwave - are holding another round of ticket sales sometime this spring. So, if you are in the mood for a fun filled, musical August, you had better get in quick, before the next lot completely sell out.

When it comes to choosing a wedding dress, it’s relatively easy. Typically, wedding dresses have one similar style so it’s just a case of turning up at the bridal store, picking the style / colour you like and having it tailored to fit. Done and dusted. But, when it comes to prom dresses, particularly these days, it’s a completely different story. This is simply because their so so much choice out there. Luckily, most prom events set a specific theme such as traditional or Gothic which in turn gives you ladies some insight into what dress to wear - but that’s about it. You still have to choose the dress. So what makes the perfect dress? Well, in short, it’s the fit. If you get the style of the dress right, the colour and fabric don’t make a treat deal of difference. It’s all about how well it fits you and your body type. The last thing you want is to have a dress that doesn’t look good. If it doesn’t look good, it won’t feel good and in turn it will make you feel not good also.

Choosing Dresses That Match

I have been to a fair few weddings over the past 20 years or so and do consider myself quite an expert on the event. Over the years, I have witnessed many ceremonies, some glamorous, some not so glamorous and some that I have actually tried to forget. For the most part, weddings tend to run fairly smoothly and rightly so as they do take a hell of a lot of forward planning. For anyone who has ever tried to organise a wedding or has even witnessed the organisation of a wedding knows. It’s hard work. Now, poor receptions, poor food and a terrible DJ is one thing but there is absolutely no excuse for poor quality dress selection on your big day. I am not just talking about your wedding dress either. I am talking about the whole selection of wedding dresses on show from bride to bridesmaid. So many times have I witness weddings where the bride has given no thought (or had no advice) on matching her gown style to her bridesmaids and so forth.

I must admit this is one thing that bothers me a great deal. If you’re planning a wedding, spare an extra few hours to visit a proper bridal shop and have a professional match your bridal gown with the rest of the gowns for the ceremony. Dresses that compliment each other work wonders and can make a relatively low key ceremony seem quite the opposite.
