What to Wear to a Wedding

Being invited to a wedding is a great honor for most, you get the chance to have fun and watch someone you know dedicate their life to something. Sometimes it can be confusing though, what do you wear? Since most people don’t want to end up being the goof ball standing in the back wearing something completely different than the rest of the crowd, it’s important to know how to choose what to wear to a wedding. If you are close to the bride and groom, you could just ask them. However, if that’s not the right option for you, it’s as simple as finding facts.

The color scheme of the wedding should show on the invitations, if it is just classic white or silver, than use those as your inspiration. Most invitations will say something along the lines of “Formal Dress”, “Casual Dress”, or “Casually Formal Dress”. Sometimes this can be confusing, and if you get stuck its best to ask a sales associate for some help. In most cases weddings are formal but only for the people who are in the ceremony. So something light like a sundress would work perfectly. Just make sure to read, observe, and ask for help to pick something right for you.

How to Choose a Wedding Hairstyle

Your wedding is a day that is all about you, and every choice honestly depends on what you want. What is traditional isn’t always right, all that really matters is that you are happy with the decision and you reap some sort of enjoyment out of it. To choose a hairstyle, choose something that will make you feel confident, comfortable, and work well with your dress. This choice varies for every woman, and your stylist in most cases will allow you to come in for a consultation to help you decide. Some women don’t use a stylist on their wedding day, but it is most logical to use a stylist because they will know how to give you exactly what you want while keeping you’re comfortable, definitely worth the splurge.

Most women who have sleeveless dresses tend to go for up-styled hair styles or up-dos. You can do a sleek pulled back up-do or you can even do a big curly one, the choice is yours. You have to decide what you like best. The positives of an up-do in this case is it will showcase your neck and shoulders and make your collarbone look sleek and elegant without distraction, but if you are uncomfortable with showing such area, a down hairstyle may work better.

Unique Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations are often overlooked but are one of the most important aspects of your wedding. Well, that might be an overstatement on my part, but they are very, very important. They’re the thing that everyone will see, carry and no doubt keep for years to come in order to remember your special day. This is mainly the reason why people spend a lot of time and money making sure that their wedding invitations are 100% perfect.

The key to a good wedding invitation is making it stand out from the rest. Unique wedding invitations are perfect for this. A unique wedding invitation gives you a chance to break away from the traditional (and often dull), classical styling and go with something new and unique to you. Your special day is exactly that, your day. You should be able to customise each element to your specific requests. The wedding invites are no exception. By going with a unique wedding invitation design as opposed to a standard, off the shelf look, not only do you get to put your stamp on it, you can also set the tone for the whole event. Nothing will make people want to attend your wedding more than a fresh, exciting invitation.

Unique invitations tend to be slightly more costly, but are well worth it. I still have my sisters wedding invitation in the drawer from 1989. If people keep your invites this long then it is definitely worth putting some time and money into.

Choosing Your Wedding Entertainment

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You must attempt to make it as memorable as possible, not just for you and your partner but for your friends, family and relatives also. This can often be quite a challenge. Keeping wedding guests entertained is an extremely daunting and challenging task, particularly if the group is fairly large. Of course, the day is all about you and your partner, but you need to consider your guests too. They’re there to share your special day with you, so you need to make it memorable for them also.

This has got us thinking about wedding entertainment. What is the perfect act / entertainment routine for a wedding? Most people simply hire a DJ or in some cases a band - but how about something a little bit more unique? Have you considered a wedding magician and entertainer? Personally, I think if you want to make your day memorable and unique, you need to break the mould. A good quality magician at your wedding will be talked about for years to come. A particularly favourite entertained of ours is wedding magician Dan Gifford. His close up magic is some of the best I have ever seen!

Diamonds - Perfect Jewelry for Wedding Gifts

Choosing a wedding gift, especially if the bride is a close friend or relative is extremely tough. Sure, there is the wedding gift list - but who really wants to buy someone close something practical like kitchen utensils. No, us women want something a little bit special. I have been thinking a lot what would make the perfect gift and it’s quite simple, Diamonds. What girl has ever been unhappy with Diamonds as a present? None. A classic set of Diamond Stud Earrings make the perfect present and can often come in handy on the big day. Stud earrings will also not break the bank. This is truly a perfect gift. Of course, you don’t have to stretch to Diamonds. We realise money might be tight, especially at this time of year. Pretty much any Jewelry will make the perfect gift. Other women always appreciate jewelry as a present. A particular favourite of mine is blue topaz jewelry. I simple cannot get enough of it. If someone were to buy me a blue topaz ring or a set of blue topaz earrings I would be over the moon! It also covers the job of finding “something blue” for the big day. That has to be a bonus right there!

For Just That Little Touch Of Mystery

A wedding is a union of two people, each playing an important role in his or her own way. Blame it on tradition passed down the generations or the simple pull of feminine charms, the bride always seems to be the focus of everyone’s attention. And when you have a 25 foot veil trailing behind you it is difficult to train your eyes elsewhere. No wonder people stood transfixed when the late Princess Diana walked up the aisle elegantly dressed in a stunning gown, and a veil that just never seemed to end. Soon after that dream-like historical wedding ceremony, wedding dress makers seemed to be flooded with orders from brides who desired the Princess Di look. Bridal veils shrunk in length post 80s, but the trend seems to have picked up again lately.

Bridal veils come in all varieties of fabrics and designs. You can also have veils embellished with pearls or stones. You can even combine the veil with an elegantly styled tiara or a head piece. The bridal dress somehow never seems complete without the veil, which provides a certain mystic quality to the entire look. And you thought the dazed look on the groom’s face as they watch their brides walk toward them was just due to wedding nerves!
